Public 'has policy role'

Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont will today emphasise to his Cabinet the need for public participation in drafting policies.
Prime Minister's Office Minister Thirapat Serirangsan said yesterday after talks with Surayud that public participation was vital.He said Surayud was anxious to see voter input in drafting a Constitution and reforms of the justice and education systems. He reported the prime minister hoped education policy would stress moral integrity more than knowledge. The Cabinet agenda sees policy issues to the fore ahead of proposed legislation being sent to the National Legislative Assembly a week today.
