Panel to address air-cargo fiasco

Newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister Kosit Panpiemras yesterday said he had set up a committee to solve the problem of cargo stuck at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The panel, chaired by National Economics and Social Development Board secretary-general Ampon Kittiampon, has been ordered to get matters fixed by January, Kosit said during his first visit to the airport since his appointment. Suvarnabhumi has been plagued since its opening late last month by the problem of large quantities of cargo not being moved, which has been put down to a software problem in the customs duty-free zone, making it impossible to link with the Customs Department and shippers. - The Nation.
Cambodian VoIP CamShin Co Ltd, a Cambodian subsidiary of Shin Satellite, has launched its "005" international calling service, general manager Jiroj Srinamwong said yesterday. The company has more than 300,000 mobile-phone subscribers and will target its existing customer base as well as international callers of other telephone operators in the country with the new service. In addition, international PC-to-phone calling will be introduced with the most competitive rates for Internet users within a few months.
