Time for german beer and french wine

Beer and unlimited ribs

The Huntsman Pub at the Landmark Hotel offers a great deal as part of Oktoberfest. Savour as many delicious pork and beef ribs as you like over a glass of Guinness or Heineken beer for Bt399.

Call (02) 254 0404, extension 4043 for reservations.

Genuinely German at Mingles

Mingles Pub & Restaurant at the Amari Atrium Hotel invites everybody to celebrate Oktoberfest until October 14. Enjoy the traditional German beer Paulaner and German dishes such as sausages and crispy pork legs.

The pub is open daily from 5.30pm to 2am.

Celebrating Oktoberfest

Square One Restaurant and the Lounge at the Royal Princess Srinakarin Hotel celebrate Oktoberfest by offering guests traditional favourites such as pork knuckles with sour cabbage, freshly baked German breads and pastries, including black forest cake, and a large variety of Bavarian and other beers. Dinner costs Bt490. The Cake Corner offers all kinds of delectable sweets and goodies.

For reservations, call (02) 721 8400, extension 2104.

A celebration of the senses

D'Sens French Restaurant has invited Christophe Thomas from the famous vineyard M Chapoutier, in France's Rhone Valley, to select wines to go with the five-course set dinner designed by chef Philippes. Accompanying Thomas is the sommelier Priscilla Teo from the two-Michelin-star restaurant Le Jardin des Sens.

The promotion runs from October 23 to 28 and costs Bt3,600 (Bt3,300 for Wine Club members).

Call (02) 200 9000, extension 2499 or 2680.

Fantastico at La Scala

Chef Luca Cesarini has created a menu of Italian specialities at the Sukhothai Hotel's La Scala restaurant. The dishes should tempt even the most fastidious epicure.

Mazzancolle (king prawns, cannellini bean salad and baby asparagus) will get the juices flowing as an appetiser. There is also a selection of wood-fired oven pizzas, such as the salame piccante (smoked mozzarella with spicy salami). Then perhaps you can treat your tastebuds to vitello (sautéed veal chop, eggplant ratatouille) and experience the pleasure of fine-dining Italian-style.

For dessert, a must is gianduja (chilled hazelnut soup with vanilla ice cream and warm fig cake). It will send your senses into a spin.

Call (02) 344 8888, extension 5736.
