Gold for Supadech

[JET SKI] Supadech Tarnsai, an 18-year-old racer, grabbed Thailand's first-ever title in the Jet Ski World Championships in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on Thursday.
After a poor show in the qualifying round, Supadech, who recently won the national title, surprised everyone with a magnificent run in the final of the Amateur Runabout 800 Open. "I am in the world championships for the first time. I was a bit nervous and had to concentrate a lot. I'm very glad that I could make it," he said. In other divisions, Athit Wongpinta came close to winning the second title for the Kingdom as he crossed the line in second place in the Novice Ski 800 Stock. Weerapong Maneechom and Panya Wangbun finished second and third in the Novice Ski 800 Limited, respectively. Sutiwat Chaisiriwichian came third in the Amateur Runabout 800 Limited, and TV star Nakorn "Ple" Silachai did a remarkable job by finishing fourth in the Amateur Runabout 4 Stroke. Sataporn Navamala, secretary-general of the Thailand Jet Sports Boating Association, said the Thai racers had done an outstanding job. "They tried hard and did their best. We are really proud of them."
