... the bad and the ugly

They protest against the coup

They dress in black too

But at the end of the day

Is there a better way?

He took our tax money

He violated our rights too

He controlled all of the media

So, what's left to do?

Television has been so boring

Only dull programmes to see

And the news all carefully screened

Channels 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and ITV!

In the three southernmost provinces

People kept dying each day

Remember Tak Bai and Krue Se

There's nothing left to say

What happened to Somchai the lawyer

And all those who disappeared

In the drug arrests that killed thousands

While the police only cheered

He sold our national assets to Singapore

His people were corrupt too

Remember that CTX scandal

Where we all felt so sad and blue?

He said "the UN is not my father"

But sent his man to compete

For UN secretary-general

What a little cheat!

What happened to all the journalists

Who got fired when they disagreed

Or failed to write something positive

About the big party "TRT"!

What happened at Paragon and CentralWorld?

When some people went to protest

Against the PM and his cronies

And were beaten up in the mess!

What happened to the word "democracy"?

When MPs can be bought all the time

When Parliament is a big joke

It's all a really bad sign!

Who will save Thailand?

Is it me or you?

There was no time left, my friend

So they had to stage the coup

Let's not talk about justice

Let's not ask "Why"?

But let us understand clearly

That our country was going to die

But the funny thing is that, friends,

Since they staged the coup

More opinions and ideas can be expressed

Between me and you

We're allowed to criticise the new leaders

We're allowed to tell them what to do

It's even better than the Thaksin Regime

Where nobody had a clue

Hope the UN can take care

Of future elections is his plea

When his human rights record

Is too humiliating for the world to see!

Have you seen all the flowers

That soldiers have collected every day?

Have you seen all the smiles

From people who pass this way?

Hope things will get better

And I pray that they will

But one thing that is certain

We're not going downhill!

And finally one last word

Let's not talk about what's right

Let's not forget our dear country

That's why we need to fight

A few steps backwards

That will save our country in haste

Is so much better than giving up

Thailand to "Square Face"!
