Midnight Run in the city on Saturday

[MARATHON] This year the 9th Amari Watergate Hotel & BMW Group Thailand Charity Midnight Run will be held on Saturday.
The annual midnight race will take place on the city streets in Bangkok starting and ending at the Amari Watergate Hotel. The streets will be closed and guarded by a police and security contingent of about 400 officers. The mini marathon will be divided in two categories - 6 km and 12km. More than 2,500 runners, both local and foreign, are expected to take part in the run. Everyone who crosses the finishing line will receive a special commemorative medal, while the winners of each event will get trophies. Also, the Amari Watergate Hotel will celebrate with all the runners at a cocktail party after the event at Henry J Bean's Bar & Grill where there will be a raffle with many prizes. Entry forms are Bt300 and Bt1,000. All runners will receive a complimentary running shirt and be entitled to big prizes such as round trip tickets to London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Bali, or Vietnam, or they can win an Oris watch, gold necklaces and more. The purpose of the marathon is to raise funds for charitable causes - the Chalerm Prakiat HRH Princess Sirindhorn school which supports the education of children whose parents have passed away due to Aids, and Baan Gerda, a Children's Village project which supports HIV-infected orphans in Nongmuang, Lopburi.
