Demand for custom-built homes helps boost industry growth The Home Builders Association said yesterday that rising demand for individual custom-built homes had generated growth for the industry.

The association reported that the number of custom-built homes - as opposed to houses in development projects - grew 26 per cent to 14,729 units in the first half of the year.

It also predicted that market demand would continue through the third quarter.

"Figures show that consumers now trust the quality of custom-built homes more than they did in the past. And they have more choices and services among home-building companies," the report said.

In the past few years, buyers have concentrated on housing projects, which has resulted in high prices, according to the association. However, both government and private campaigns focusing more on custom-built homes have allowed consumers to get more bang for their buck. - The Nation.

Sanook.com: Tailored advertising on the Net

Thailand's most-visited website, sanook.com, has introduced a new online advertising technique: contextual ads, which are generated based on the content of the websites on which they appear.

Torboon Puangmaha, chief executive, said the new ads were aimed at increasing advertisers' chances to reach their target audience directly.

He said growth in online advertising was likely to increase commensurate with the increasing number of Internet users.

The new ads are also expected to gain in popularity among all types of businesses in the near future. - The Nation.
