New PM to go to China for summit meeting

Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont will make his first official trip to China to attend Asean plus China Summit later this month, Foreign Ministry's Permanent Secretary Krit Garnjana-goonchorn said Tuesday.

Surayud who was appointed as prime minister on Sunday will attend the summit scheduled to be in Nanning, Guangxi Region from October 30 to 31, Krit said.

The commemorative summit is held to mark the 15 th anniversary of Asean-China dialogue relation. China-Asean Expo and China-Asean Business and Investment Summit will also be held during the period.

Krit was speaking after meeting with Surayud at the Government House to brief about the summit.

Surayud will also attend Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting in Vietnam on November 15 - 19 and will attend the Asean summit in Philippines on December 11 - 13.
