IN BRIEF
Franchising :The Fat Banana takes mobile restaurant success Stateside

The Fat Banana, a Canadian division of US-based ICaptivate, Inc, a leader in branded mobile content, mobile advertising and promotions, has announced that the company has created and run successfully two mobile restaurants in Thailand and is bringing the success to the United States.

The Fat Banana is a one-stop shop for everything "Banana". This innovative and widely popular mobile fast casual restaurant concept is now set to launch potential franchisees around the globe. The company offers the lowest entry into fast-food franchising anywhere through its mobile kiosks, a delicious everything-banana food menu and cool branded merchandise, said Gary German, the founder of The Fat Banana.

The total cost of a Fat Banana licence is US$35,000 (Bt1.3 million) for the first 500 locations, plus $50,000 for the equipment and mobile kiosk. With a low royalty rate of 4.5 per cent, getting into the market is easy and cost effective, said German.
