CEO policy to be reviewed
Council for Democratic Reform chief General Sonthi Boonyaratglin has ordered a review of ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's CEO-governor policy, Defence Ministry spokesman Lt-General Palangkoon Klaharn said yesterday.
He said Sonthi had called a meeting of all provincial governors across the country and explained to them the reasons behind his move to take control of the government. He asked them to explain to ordinary people why he had done so. Palangkoon said it was insufficiently understood at the grass-roots level that the Thaksin government had created injustices and meddled with independent organisations. Sonthi also told them the government would review all the policies of the previous government, such as the CEO-governor initiative, and continue those that benefited the public.
