Navy :Workers hurt by glass shards

Nine workers were injured yesterday in a small explosion caused by a short-circuit at the Naval Ordnance head office in Bangkok.
he accident happened at about 10am while employees were cleaning an equipment room at the headquarters in Bang Na district, said Captain Korkiet Pundee, director of the naval PR department. A worker accidentally turned on an electrical appliance, causing a short circuit and explosion. The workers were cut by flying glass when windows shattered. The injured included Lieutenant Tavee Deejamala, who was overseeing the work. He and worker Supachai Kamcharoen were rushed to a nearby hospital, while the others suffered minor injuries. Captain Korkiet said the blast had nothing to do with terrorism and did not happen in the arsenal. No explosive devices or weapons were kept in the room where the accident happened because they were recently moved to be stored at the Naval Ordnance office in Sattahip. After the accident, police officers and reporters were not allowed to inspect the scene.
