Discounts aplenty from developers

Many of the 400 participating developers are offering discounts of between Bt30,000 and Bt150,000 at The 15th Housing and Condominium Show, which starts today and runs until Sunday at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok.
LPN Development managing director Opas Sripayak said his company had joined with Grand Unity Co Ltd to offer six condominium projects - in Narathiwat Chaopraya, Nawamin, Prinklow, Ratchada-Thapra, Ramkhamhang and Vibhavadi Road - in a special discount package giving between Bt30,000 and Bt100,000 per unit off the normal sales price. He added that the coup would not affect home-buyers' decisions to purchase new houses because the duration of the military's control of the country's affairs was expected to be short. Kitisak Champrasak, managing director of Harrison Plc, said his company would offer discounts worth up to Bt150,000 for customers who reserve condominiums, depending on size. "We believe that this event will boost sales in the last quarter of the year," he said. The president of the Thai Condominiums Association, Atip Bhichanond, said the show would drive residential sales in the final quarter after home-buyers delayed their purchasing decisions during the first nine months of the year.
