Tyre business :Bridgestone opens in Dubai, S'pore
Bridgestone Corporation said on Thursday that it had established headquarters for two tyre business SBUs (strategic business units) headquarters - one in Dubai covering the Middle East and Africa, and the other in Singapore covering the Asia-Pacific region.
Both offices will begin operations on October 1.The SBUs were set up with the objectives of speeding up decision-making and action, and optimising the company's regional strategy by better identifying local market trends. The efforts form part of the structural reforms set to take place on October 16, as announced on September 1. The SBU headquarters in Dubai will have more functional responsibilities than Bridgestone's existing sales subsidiary there. The SBU headquarters in Singapore will not cover China. The sales, marketing and operation management and coordination for business units handled in Japan for these areas will be transferred to the SBU headquarters starting on October 1.
