CDRM seeks charter help

The Council for Democratic Reform under Constitutional Monarchy (CDRM) asked Former deputy prime minister Wissanu Krea-ngam yesterday to help draft a new constitution, a source said.

Borwornsak Uwanno, former Cabinet secretary-general, also met with the council. Both were leading legal specialists with the Thaksin government who quit within a short time of each other. Former Senate speaker Meechai Ruchuphan advised the CDRM to ask these two to help. Meechai is tipped to become the head of a committee to draft the interim Constitution. Earlier, Attorney-General Pachara Yutithamdamrong, Auditor-General Jaruwan Maintaka, Energy Ministry permanent-secretary Cherdpong Siriwit, and Public Relations Department head Dussadee Sinchirmsiri, met the CDRM and Election Commission's chairman
