In Brief :Sign-maker extravaganza looms
Leading sign-makers and advertising agencies in Thailand and abroad have confirmed that they will participate in Sign Asia Expo 2006 at Impact Exhibition Centre Muang Thong Thani September 28-October 1.
The event is expected to raise the country's profile in the sign and advertising industry in the Asia-Pacific region and create opportunities for Thailand to be a regional centre for design and production, said Sakkachat Sivabavorn, managing director of IBRIX Co Ltd, which is organising the event. He added that the event would tap potential customers from 40 countries in Europe and Asia.
Business registrations plummet The Business Development Department said yesterday that it had registered 4,172 companies with an aggregate registered capital of Bt14.9 billion in August, down 10 per cent from the same period last year. Of those companies, 1,751 were located in Bangkok and the rest upcountry. In the eight months ended August 31 the department registered 514,512 firms, of which 264,520 firms were in Bangkok and the upcountry.
