MIPIM Asia exhibition to be held in Hong Kong from September 27-29 French firm Marche International des Professionnels de l'Immobilier (International Market for Property Professionals - or MIPIM) will hold MIPIM Asia from September 27-29 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

MIPIM Asia is a property exhibition that is expected to attract more than 2,000 companies as exhibitors. They will come from Asia-Pacific countries, Europe and the US, says Paul Zilk, CEO of Reed MIDEM. The event is also a major conference and networking event designed to bring together 5,500 exhibiting and visiting companies. -The Nation.

Aviation: All Nippon Airways may go budget

All Nippon Airways is considering launching two low-cost carriers - one for domestic services and one for international - sometime in the first half of 2007, sources said late last week. The new carriers would be subsidiaries of ANA and would charge lower fares by significantly cutting the costs of in-flight services.

They will likely compete with Skymark Airlines Co. and other existing low-cost carriers. The company plans to take advantage of a new runway at Haneda Airport scheduled for completion in 2009. - The Daily Yomiuri/ANN.

Cargo services: TAGS expects to double shipments

Thai Airport Ground Services Co Ltd said yesterday the opening of a free-zone cargo area at Suvarnabhumi Airport would more than double shipments in the near future, from 1.2 million tonnes to 3 million tonnes.

CEO Anupong Rojnakarin said the new airport will provide 24-hour operation compared with eight hours at Don Muang Airport.  He added that a paperless system would esnure and smooth operations. - The Nation.
