Late news :PTT subsidiaries 'not affected'

Stock Exchange of Thailand president Patareeya Benchapolchai said the legal review of PTT Plc would not affect the company's subsidiaries, which have been listed for a long time, nor other privatised companies.

She said yesterday that the exchange stands ready to show the Supreme Administrative Court how PTT's delisting would affect the bourse.

Rail speed-up

Caretaker Transport Minister Pongsak Ruktapongpisal yesterday ordered the State Railway of Thailand to speed up construction of the airport express train so that it is ready by year's end.

Pongsak said the project is about 20 per cent behind schedule but eventually should be completed by February.

The Bt29.9-billion project, which links Suvarnabhumi Airport to downtown Bangkok, is expected to serve 20 million passengers a year.

TMB upgraded

Moody's Investors Service yesterday upgraded TMB Bank's financial strength rating to D- from E+, reflecting the bank's successful issuance of securities in May and completion of a rights issue last month.
