Rise and Fall of the egg man

A rare egg collector fell to his death while examining a nest in Yorkshire, England. Colin Watson was a notorious collector who violated England's Wildlife and Countryside Act on more than one occasion.
Back in 1985, police raided his house and found more than 2,200 eggs including an illegal golden eagle egg.
Hot Dog loses licence A woman in Hohhot, China, crashed her car while giving her dog a driving lesson. The woman claims that her dog "was fond of crouching on the steering wheel and often watched her drive" so she decided to let him have a go at it. The pair didn't make it too far before they crashed into an oncoming car.
Cheek in tongue A man in Gliwice, Poland, received a new tongue made out of skin taken from his butt. Jarislav Ernst had his original tongue removed after it was found to be cancerous. The new tongue is made up of skin, fat and nerve tissue from his behind - which was then sewn into his mouth. Good time girls gift gas A brothel owner in Sydney, Australia, is enticing customers by offering a discount on gas for every service they purchase. Madam Kerry says the sex industry has taken a hit because of the high gas prices and hopes to encourage business with the offer. Says Kerry: "We wanted to find a way to give back to our clients."
Jail break foiled by evacuation An inmate in Omaha, Nebraska, was taken to the hospital after he claimed to have swallowed razor blades. Instead it was discovered that Damon Fitzgerald had been hiding a handcuff key in his rectum for almost a month. He apparently stole the key after he got into a fight with a guard, then hid it "on his person".
Shaving shortfall A four-foot-tall ex-con is suing a Georgia prison because he fell off the bathroom sink while shaving. Byron Rhodan claims guards forced him to shave, but did not give him anything to stand on so he could see the mirror - causing him to hurt himself.
Kinky crooks caught on camera A sex shop owner in Wellington, New Zealand, is making no apologies for posting security camera pictures of people stealing sex toys in his store window. John Frew says he's fed up with people shoplifting and that his scare tactics have actual resulted in embarrassed thieves returning to pay for the stolen toys.
Fat chance of a divorce A 230-kilo woman in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is being cheated on, big time. Peggie Johnson's husband and partner have been arrested for neglecting to feed or bathe her, leaving Johnson all alone in her home. Apparently, the couple was too busy having sex with each other to help Johnson out.
Pets can breathe easy Fire trucks and ambulances in Appleton, Wisconsin, are being equipped with oxygen masks intended for pets. Alderman Richard Thompson initiated the programme after he saw a photograph of a firefighter in a nearby town giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to a cat rescued from a house fire. "A pet is family to most people," he says . "I know I wouldn't want to lose Maggie, my collie, or Lucy, my Tabby cat, to a fire, carbon monoxide poisoning or Lord knows what else."
