TAT gets consultant

The board of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) yesterday appointed governor Juthamas Siriwan as a state agency consultant until the end of her term next month.
Meanwhile, the authority's director of planning and policy, Auggaphol Brickshawana, was promoted to deputy governor in charge of planning and policy. Caretaker Tourism and Sports Minister Pracha Maleenont, who is the chairman of the board, said Juthamas would finish her governorship on October 10 and that the board had agreed to keep her on at the agency as a consultant.
"Juthamas is a valuable person for the tourism industry and for the organisation," said Pracha, adding Juthamas would take the same position as former governor Pradech Payakvichien. A TAT source said that Juthamas is, however, expected to be reappointed as governor in the near future.
Meanwhile, Charun Ohnmee has been appointed director of the authority's office in Osaka, Japan, while Pornthip Makaraphand has been appointed as director of the Singapore office.
The deputy governor for international marketing, Phornsiri Manohan, swaps places with Juthaporn Rerngronasa to take charge of domestic marking, while Santichai Eauchongprasit, who was in charge of tourism products, changes places with Pensuda Priaram at administration.
