Alstom Projects India lands Nam Ngum 2 installation work

Alstom Projects India Ltd said last week it had bagged a ¤8-million (Bt386,000) contract for the supply and erection of hydro-mechanical equipment for the Nam Ngum 2 hydropower project in Laos.

The contract was signed in Vientiane with Ch Karnchang (Lao) Co Ltd, an engineering, procurement and construction contractor and subsidiary of Ch Karnchang Plc, one of the biggest construction companies in Thailand.

Alstom Projects India Ltd has to complete the project in 43 months. The Nam Ngum project, funded by a group of commercial banks led by Krung Thai Bank, is located on the Nam Ngum River in the southeastern part of Laos. The end customer for the project is South East Asia Energy Ltd. Elektrowatt-Ekono is the independent engineer for the project.
