Oil imports: Viset sees 5% fall in volume terms Caretaker Energy Minister Viset Choopiban on Monday predicted that Thailand's crude oil imports would drop by 5 per cent this year, while their value would continue to remain high at Bt700 billion. He told Thai News Agency that the expected decline in the country's crude oil imports was a result of successful energy-saving campaigns being carried out domestically. When asked whether local fuel prices would decline further next week, Viset said it would depend on the situation between Israel and Lebanon and negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear programme. - The Nation.
