Tech wizzes win medals

Three high school students from Thailand have won bronze medals at the Computer Olympics in Mexico.

The three are Phitchaya Phothilimthana, of Mahidol Witthayanusorn School in Nakhon Pathom, Supphasorn Suwajjanakorn, of Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School and Sukholsak Sakchoowong, of Suankularb Wittayalai School, both in Bangkok.

Four Thai students were among participants from 77 nations who entered the annual event, held this year in Merida City, Mexico between August 13 and 20.

Phoomchanit Watthanaprakornkul, of Triam Udom Suksa, came away empty-handed.

The students will return to the Kingdom on Thai Airways flight at 6 am tomorrow, and the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology will hold a news conference at 6pm on Wednesday at the Imperial Queen's Park Hotel.
