COMMERCE MINISTRY :Firms face inquiry into Temasek Holdings deal

The Commerce Ministry said it would meet on Wednesday to investigate Kularb Kaew Co and Cedar Holdings and find out if they were proxies for Singapore's Temasek Holdings, which took over Shin Corp Plc in January.
Ministry deputy permanent secretary Yanyong Phuangrach said the investigation committee comprised legal experts and representatives of concerned government agencies, including the Business Development Department, the Finance Ministry and the Bank of Thailand. He said the committee members were experts and the inquiry should be completed in a short time.
KGI SECURITiES : Firm recruits 50 staff KGI Securities (Thailand) Plc has recruited 50 new marketing staff, executives and wealth-management personnel as part of its effort to increase its customer base this year. Of the 50 new employees, 35 are in marketing and executive positions and the rest are in wealth management. The company believes the marketing officers will generate a significant number of new client accounts within the next four to six months.
