PM cans handouts plan
Caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra had planned to hand out a range of items to villagers while on his tour in the Northeast, but the plan was yesterday scrapped amid fears he might breach electoral laws.
The items to be handed out were:lSor Por Kor 4-01 documents for 400 farmers lA Bt5-million loan to a community enterprise for 50 farmers lSaplings of "Saboo Dam" (fruit trees) for 500 farmers lLand title deeds for 300 farmers l100 cattle from the "cattle for one million families" project for 50 farmers l2,000 sets of equipment to fight bird flu for volunteers lTools, seeds and animal feed for a Youth Farmers Committee
