Easy for Tamarine

Tamarine Tanasugarn scored an easy win over an ailing Hsieh Su-wei of Taiwan to cruise into the quarter-finals of the Legg Mason Tennis Tournament in Washington on Thursday.
The sixth-seeded Thai easily overcame the Taiwanese teenager, who was suffering a wrist injury, 6-1 6-2 to register her third straight victory over her doubles partner."I knew that she had a wrist injury, so I kept hitting the balls to her backhand,'' said Tamarine, who herself is recovering from a leg injury. Tamarine was to meet third-seeded Frenchwoman Camille Pin in the quarter-final later yesterday, their first meeting on the tour. "She is a solid player. I will have to keep changing the tempo of the game and concentrate on my serves,'' added the Thai, who is now No 124 in the world. In the doubles quarter-finals, Napaporn Tongsalee and Sarah Borwell of Great Britain lost to second-seeded Hsieh and Tatiana Poutchek of Belarus 6-4 6-4.
