Family man wants peace

Democrat Party Leader Abhisit Vejjajiva blows candles on his birthday cake while joining other party’s members in celebrating his 42nd birthday anniversary at the party head office.
Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, who turned 42 yesterday, said his birthday wish was to see peace return to the country.

"I want to see a peaceful society and hope for bad things to go," he said at a Bangkok hotel during a break from an international conference.

In keeping with the family-man image his party has been promoting in a TV commercial released recently, Abhisit said he and his family offered alms to monks at home in the morning.

His wife gave him a present of a black wallet, while his children gave him a teddy bear holding a football, his favourite sport.
