BEC Tero look to Arsenal for help

[SOCCER] BEC Tero Sasana Football Club owner Brian Marcar has asked English Premiership club Arsenal to send some of their young players to Thailand to play with his team and also wants two Thai players to compete with Arsenal's lower division team.
Marcar raised eyebrows when his club signed a long-term partnership contract with the English giants last year in an attempt to improve Thai football. As a part of the deal, former Arsenal striker Niall Quinn played one match for the "Fire Dragon: as BEC Tero Sasana are known, in the Thailand Premier League last season. However, Marcar acknowledged that despite the former Irish international's presence on the field causing a stir, it left no impact on Thai football development. So now the BEC Tero big boss plans to ask the London club to send their youngsters to play in Thailand. "We approached them about sending young lads aged 17-18 to play with us in order to gain experience abroad and to help us reclaim the title. This will make our league more attractive and improve the standard in the process," said Marcar after returning from the United Kingdom. Apart from his attempt to import young players from England, Marcar also asked Arsenal to push BEC Tero players into English football. At the top of his list of players are young forward Teeratep Winothai and midfielder Datsakorn Thonglao, who are considered two of the best Thai players. "We asked for their assistance in finding a team in League Two for Teeratep and Datsakorn. I think with the quality of both players, they could comfortably play in such a division despite having a height disadvantage," said Marcar, who also revealed that BEC Tero would train at Arsenal in September.
