DCT mulls Pacific deal

Dusit Thani Plc (DCT) may reach a principle agree ment with Pacific Assets Plc (PA) this month if it decides to go ahead with its plan to buy either assets or shares.

"Right now we are studying the company's fundamental data, and expect to conclude the study this month. If we are okay with the deal, we would make a principle of agreement. And the next process after this would be due diligence conduct," DCT chairman Chatri Sophonpanich said yesterday.

The company could buy either Pacific Assets' shares or assets, if the deal reaches a conclusion, he said.

Recently, there was report that DCT was in the process of acquiring more than a 50-per-cent stake in Pacific Assets Plc, a subsidiary of Natural Park. PA operates hotels, serviced apartments and office buildings.

Natural Park holds a 63-per-cent stake in Pacific Assets.
