Carlos to stay at Madrid

[BOXING] Thai southpaw Terdsak Jandaeng (Poon-intree Gym) is relishing the challenge of facing dangerous Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez for the World Boxing Organisation interim featherweight title bout on Sunday.
Having spent almost a month training in the United States under the watchful eye of American trainer Bobby Villaver, who guided Somsak Sithchatchawal to the World Boxing Association (WBA) super bantamweight title, the Nakhon Ratchasima-born boxer, who has 15 knockouts under his belt, is raring to go. The 25-year-old has had a light preparation programme at the training camp in Las Vegas, jogging around 15km each day, punching and training and reviewing his tactics with Sod Poon-intree Gym. With Terdsak prepared both physically and psychologically, Villaver believes the Thai has a good chance of defeating the veteran Mexican who has International Boxing Federation and WBA featherweight titles. "At this point, he is fully fit and possesses the mental strength. He still has more time to get familiarised with his surroundings before the fight. So, I think he could overcome Marquez no matter how good he is," Villaver said. The Terdsak-Marquez fight will be held at Lake Tahoe, Nevada, on Sunday morning. Channel 7 will televise the bout live from 8.30am.
