Nudnida,Nungnadda into semis

[TENNIS] Two Thai teenagers, Nudnida Luangnam and Nungnadda Wannasuk, stormed their way into the women's singles semifinals of the US$10,000 (Bt378,000) PTT Bangkok Open circuit 2 at the Tennis Academy of Asia after winning their quarter-finals yesterday.
Top seed Nudnida, who was stopped at the quarter-final stage last week, scored a 6-4 5-7 6-3 hard-fought victory over the Netherlands' Selma Andrade. "I'm so tired because I had a very tough match. After I lost the second set, I tried to keep cool and Andrade made many errors," said Nudnida, who also reached the doubles semifinals. Nudnida next plays Uzbekistan's Vlada Ekshibarova, who defeated Indonesian Lavinia Tananta 6-4 5-7 6-3. "I plan to attack at the net and try to avoid making errors," said Nudnida, who beat Ekshibarova 6-4 7-6 (7-5) in last week's second round. Countrywoman Nungnadda, who knocked out second-seeded Maki Arai of Japan in the second round, maintained her impressive form with a 6-4 6-0 comfortable win over Dilyara Saidkhodjaeva of Uzbekistan. "She was quite persistent and I had to attack all the time. I made only a few errors today, which was the key for my victory," said Nungnadda, who hails from Nakhon Ratchasima. In today's semifinals she will take on Indonesian seventh seeded Ayu-Fani Damayanti, who ousted Asha Nanda Kumar of India 3-6 6-4 6-1.
