Lazare Kaplan seeks local partner

Lazare Kaplan International Inc, the 103-year-old US diamond cutter and wholesaler, is looking for a business partner to handle retail management and marketing operations for the company once it enters Thailand. The company hopes to finalise the deal in the next three months.
Senior vice president Charles Rosario said a marketing plan would materialise once it finds a partner. But he did reveal that the company planned to open three boutiques on its own and two others in collaboration with the partner.
Bangkok Base sets up in new digs
Business-services provider Bangkok Base has announced the opening of its new offices in Fenix Tower in Sukhumvit Soi 31. The new offices, which include phone, high-speed Internet, conference rooms, parking and other essentials, are part of the company's latest expansion. It has taken care of foreign companies and expat entrepreneurs for four years from its flagship offices in the Shinawatra Thai Silk Building. Bangkok Base has grown rapidly since its inception in late 2001. Managed by a core group of lawyers, accountants and administrators, the firm today focuses on providing comprehensive services to individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises interested in establishing a corporate presence in Thailand.
Unilever promotion at Big C
Unilever Thai Trading Co, a producer and distributor of leading consumer brands, and Big C Supercentre Plc launched the "Shop Laek Jaek Krajai" campaign at the store's Rajdamri Road branch yesterday. The campaign will travel to all 47 Big C outlets nationwide between tomorrow and August 14. The campaign allows consumers who buy up to Bt249 to receive a free Unilever product, such as Sunlite or Breeze Excel Gold. Those who buy up to Bt299 will receive a higher-value product, such as Lux bar soap, Ponds foam or Breeze Excel liquid.
