True's Supachai Man of the Year
True Corp Plc chief executive Supachai Chearavanont has been named Telecom Man of the Year by the Telecommunications Association of Thailand, a member of the association said.
He said Supachai was selected ahead of other nominees, including the chairman of the National Telecommunications Commission Choochart Promphrasid, chief executive of Total Access Communication Sigve Brekke, and chief executive of Advanced Info Service Somprasong Boonyachai.The association picked Supachai on Monday based on several factors, including social contributions, and will officially announce his selection early next month. Supachai has led True group's drive to converge its telecom and broadcasting services. Its businesses include cellular operator True Move, pay-TV firm UBC True and broadband provider True Internet.
