Central Hotels opens in Phuket
Central Hotels and Resorts has opened a regional sales office in Phuket, headed by assistant sales director Sajeephan Maneesnongkhun.
She is now responsible for the Central Karon Beach Resort, Central Karon Village and Central Kata Resort. She was the sales manager at Chedi Phuket. "Central has three existing regional sales offices in Singapore, the UK and Germany," Chris Bailey, Central Hotels and Resorts marketing vice president, said last week. "We intend to expand this coverage including opportunities in East Asia and Australia. However, it was important that we ensured our own backyard was professionally covered, and with our growing number of hotels and resorts in the South, Phuket was a natural choice. "We are confident Sajeephan and her team will bring professional sales-management service to the travel industry in Phuket and the South," he said.
Kitty on rocksJapanese cartoon character Hello Kitty will feature in a limited-edition collection of diamond-studded watches to be showcased at the Bangkok World Watch and Jewellery Fair 2006. The Hello Kitty Diamond Collection is produced in Switzerland. The timepieces come with the cartoon character and 332 hand-set diamonds weighing 2.2 carats. Only 99 watches have been made, and only three of them will be available in Thailand. Siam Paragon will host the event from Thursday to August 14. The shopping mall expects 100,000 visitors and Bt300 million in sales.
