The 3,000-square-metre, high-security facility is specifically designed for de-manufacturing and certified destruction of materials and systems from the electronics industry.

He added that this facility would support its clients in the region, particularly those with operations in Thailand.

The company can support its global customers internationally with a single supplier to handle their e-scrap for complete, documented and environmentally correct disposal, he added.

The facility has been given the go-ahead by the Ministry of Industry and is preparing for ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certification. Metech Thailand further extends the reach of Metech's Accountable Resource Management (ARM).

This programme, the only one of

its kind in the electronics-recycling industry, assures customers complete product stewardship through step-by-step tracking and accountability for all material-handling.

Advani added that this was a critical issue in the face of growing global concerns about "cradle-to-grave" environmental responsibility and information security.
