Lates news: New ShinSat five goes live

Shin Satellite Plc announced yesterday its Thaicom 5 satellite was now operational.

The satellite passed all orbit tests following its May 27 launch.

ShinSat transferred Thaicom 3 users to Thaicom 5 on July 13.

The satellite provides conventional broadcast and telecommunications services. It can broadcast high-definition television to the Southeast Asia region. Its footprint covers four continents.

Bargains galore

The Housing Finance Association expects total sales of non-performing assets at the fifth NPA Grand Sale will top Bt3 billion, thanks to steady domestic interest rates.

The sale kicked off yesterday and ends tomorrow at the Bangkok Convention Centre, Central Lat Phrao.

More than 100,000 homes and other properties are for sale. Special loans with low down payments are available at the fair.

As many as 300 properties are being offered for a low as 20 per cent of their market price.
