New Boeing 737 commissioned for His Majesty, Royal Family

The Air Force will commission a new jet for the Royal Family in November, civil affairs director Air Vice Marshal Thongchai Chalermkhet said. "The new Boeing 737-800 will go into service for the King and Royal Family members as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations for His Majesty's accession to the throne," Thongchai said yesterday.

Communist party seeks to register

A new communist party wants to contest the next general election and will soon apply for registration with the Election Commission, party representative Surachai Saedan said yesterday.

If the application was denied, the New Communism Thai Party would take its case to the Constitution Court, he said.

Sak files defamation complaint

Constitution Court judge Sak Techacharn yesterday filed a police complaint alleging defamation against two activists and three newspapers: Thaikorn Pholsuwan, Chumpon Sangthong, and Manager, Naew Na and Thai Post newspapers. Sak claimed Thaikorn and Chumpon said he should be disqualified as a judge because he was involved in the 1983 sale of public land in Chiang Mai. The newspapers published the allegation.
