PAD submits open letters to foreign embassies

People's Alliance for Democracy handed over its open letter to foreign embassies on Friday to explain real political situation in Thailand and to counter letters of caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra to foreign leaders which they said provided false information.

A small group of PAD members submitted the letter to representatives of Chinese Embassy in Bangkok at 9.30am, followed by embassies of Japan, France and Russia.

PAD members and supporters will hand over the letter to British Embassy at about 2pm and moved to US Embassy at 3pm before marching to Lumpini Park where they would have a special session of Muang Thai Weekly.

The group said they have to issue the letter because Thaksin's letters to foreign leaders gave wrong impression and facts about the political situation in the country as well as PAD's pro-democracy moves.
