THAI reshuffles its management

A senior management reshuffle at Thai Airways International Plc (THAI) is expected to help the national carrier improve its marketing strength, a source at the company said.
The move is ultimately aimed at increasing revenue and profit. THAI president Apinan Sumanaseni, who was selected for the top post in April, is the man behind the reshuffle. Apinan is focusing on the company's marketing strength and risk management, rather than growth, the source said. THAI chairman Wanchai Sarathulthat said the company's board had appointed Kobchai Srivilas, senior executive vice president for corporate planning and information technology services, as adviser for special projects, also at the senior executive vice president level. Narongsak Sangapong, executive vice president, special projects, has been made executive vice president, corporate secretariat department, while Tummasak Chutiwong, executive vice president, corporate secretariat, has been appointed managing director, technical department. Pisal Chayakula, executive vice president, corporate support, has been appointed executive vice president, corporate planning and information technology services department. Arunee Phinyawat, vice president, corporate finance, has been made vice president, financial adviser for special projects, and Sang-Ngun Pornpaiboonstid, vice president, corporate planning, has been appointed vice president, adviser for special projects. The company has also appointed Supachai Limpisvasti, managing director, technical department, as senior executive vice president, technical adviser for special projects. Vasing Kittikul, executive vice president, commercial, has been appointed senior executive vice president, commercial adviser for special projects. Wallop Bhukkanasut, vice president, sales and distribution, will become executive vice president, commercial department. Pravit Shinawatra, director, flight technical and support, has been appointed vice president, aviation personnel development department. Pichait Riengvattanasuk, director, economic planning, has been made vice president, corporate finance. Finally, Teeratat Pornpiboon, director, operations control and planning, has been appointed vice president, corporate planning.
