Crude distillation : Thaioil's capacity up by 5,000 bpd

Thaioil's Hot Oil project to increase crude distillation capacity has been completed six months ahead of schedule, thereby increasing capacity by 5,000 barrels per day to 225,000 barrels.
The installation of a mercury absorption unit has also been completed, enabling Thaioil to refine additional indigenous crude in accordance with the government's policy of crude imports. Managing director Viroj Mavichak said that the mercury absorption unit would reduce its feedstock oil costs. Thaioil's profits are expected increase proportionately to the increase in refining capacity. SHIPPING : RCL launches revamped services Regional Container Lines Plc (RCL) has launched its revamped RCL Asia Middle East and RCL Gulf Feeder services. This will give customers a faster transit time, increase port coverage frequency and provide a more dependable service, said the company's president Sumate Tanthuwanit. RCL Asia Middle East will employ 10 vessels servicing Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shekou, Port Klang, Singapore and Jebel Ali. Its maiden trip will set off from Shanghai on July 11. RCL Gulf Feeder will provide a fixed-schedule, twice-weekly service from its hub port Jebel Ali to Dammam and Bandar Abbas. It will also offer a direct link between Dammam and Bandar Abbas. Health and beauty products : Oriental Spa to enter local market Oriental Spa Co Ltd, manufacturer of Orientist aromatic products, is set to enter the Thai market following its success in Germany, Ukraine, India, Japan and China. Piyasak Boonkhomrat, managing director, said three products - aromatic oil, aromatic massage oil and aromatic sand - would be sold at 16 Boots outlets, with four more products to be distributed through leading pharmaceutical shops in Bangkok and the provinces at the end of the year.
