Monk ready to return

Revered abbot Luang Phor Khoon Parisuttho's health has improved enough for him to return to Ban Rai Temple on Monday, caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Suwat Liptapanlop said yesterday.

Suwat, along with Deputy Governor Somchai Chatpattanasiri, visited the 83-year-old monk at Maharaj Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital, where he has been undergoing treatment for low blood sugar since Wednesday.

Luang Phor Khoon said he felt better and wanted to go back to his temple in Dan Khun Thot district.

Suwat said Luang Phor Khoon had been suffering from hypoglycaemia and diabetes but had now recovered. Doctors ordered the monk to refrain from travelling beyond 10 kilometres of the temple, he said.
