France's president is very nice to me : Thaksin

Caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra used his morning radio talk to boast of warm reception he received from foreign leaders during his visit to China, France, Japan, Russia and the United Kingdom in last April and May.
On Saturday he used his re-instated radio show to claim how the likes of Britain's Tony Blair, France's Jacques Chirac, , Japan's Junichiro Koizumi, China's Wen Jiabao and Russia's Vladamir Putin had given their precious time to have coffee with him when he popped by to say hello two months ago on his unofficial visit of world leaders. Thaksin is a caretaker premier since February when he dissolved parliament. However he went abroad to visit those countries although he said he was taking vacation after the dissolution of the House. "Jacques Chirac was really nice. I asked for 15 minutes to have a coffee and he gave me an hour," Thaksin told his Thai listeners. Blair also gave the premier an hour, Koizumi gave him 50 minutes and the leaders of Russia and China insisted on hosting a dinner for him, said Thaksin. He said he used the time to assure the leaders about political developments in Thailand. "I inform you this to let you understand that at present, every country in the world places a lot of importance in Thailand," Thaksin said during his radio talk. The Nation
