UAE killed in Pattaya

Pattaya police are searching for a bar hostess in connection with the death of United Arab Emirates national who was found dead in his room at the Marine Plaza hotel on Saturday night.

After questioning hotel staff, police said that the victim, Amad Mohammad Obaib Alaslai, 60, could have been killed by woman he had taken to his room.

She was identified as Paweena Kijjawat, a native of Nonthaburi.

Alaslai checked into the hotel on June 11 and brought women from several night entertainment venues around the city to his room almost every night, police said.

Quoting an initial crime scene report, police said Alaslai had a severe wound to his head caused by impact from a hard object. His neck had also been slashed.

A soda water bottle found in the room was the likely murder weapon, they said.
