BankThai appoints cultural adviser

BankThai has appointed Paothong Thongchua, an expert on Thai culture, as an adviser to the bank's president, in order to help promote the bank's "Proud of Thai with BankThai" concept.

President Phirasilp Supapholsiri said in a statement that Paothong would

provide advice on projecting the bank's image and plan activities under the new concept.

The statement said BankThai had been positioning itself as the bank that emphasises Thai values.

Paothong has advised the bank on several occasions over the past two or three years on ways to promote the bank's image, and they have all proved highly successful.

BankThai is rated as a small bank, although it recently upgraded its status to that of a universal bank. It reported a net profit of almost Bt302 million for the first quarter.
