'DNA under fingernails'

A police autopsy released yesterday found the DNA of a man suspected of raping and killing a 10th grade girl in Don Muang district last week under the victim's fingernails, the Police General Hospital spokesman said yesterday.

Maj-General Somyos Deemark said the autopsy showed the unnamed victim endured a slow death from several stab wounds received while being sexually violated by Sirimongkhol Ruengnark. The cause of death was an internal haemorrhage.

The officer said the DNA of Sirimongkhol would prove

crucial during his trial. The taxi motorcyclist has reportedly confessed to killing the girl near her home. Her identity has not been revealed publicly.
