HM 'exercises role perfectly'

His Majesty the King has exercised his constitutional role immaculately throughout his reign, a top Justice Ministry official said yesterday.

The King's constitutional role has been carried out whenever necessary through his constitutional right to be informed, to be consulted and to warn, said Deputy Permanent Secretary Tongthong Chandrangsu.

He was speaking at a seminar marking the 49th anniversary of Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Law yesterday.

"Throughout his reign, His Majesty has not exercised his power under his own will but has strictly abided by the Constitution and royal tradition," Tongthong added.
