Letsie stays North, Carl in Phang Nga

Their Majesties King Letsie III of Lesotho and Queen Masenate Mohate Seeiso spent their second day in Chiang Mai visiting the Huai Hong Khrai Royal Development Study Centre.
They took particular interest yesterday in the method of growing forest cover to prevent droughts.The royal couple arrived at the centre in Doi Saket district in the morning with Caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and found some 3,000 locals giving them a warm welcome. Centre director Pradab Kladkhempetch said their majesties were particularly interested in methods of growing vegetation to prevent drought. Thaksin also gave the royal couple information about the construction of small dams and the hydrating of forestland. Prior to their departure, the visiting royals planted a pair of tropical trees in the centre's yard. Meanwhile, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Silvia boarded a yacht at Phuket's Yacht Haven Marina to admire the beauty of Phang Nga Bay yesterday morning. The royal couple will remain in Phuket until next Tuesday.
