Complaint probes to follow festivities

The Election Commission will investigate more complaints against senators-elect after celebrations of the 60th anniversary of His Majesty's accession to the throne are over, commissioner Prinya Nakchadtree said yesterday.

The watchdog yesterday officially endorsed 31 more senators who were elected in the April 19 poll.

They included Chutinant Bhirombhakdi, who was elected in Bangkok.

The commission has so far endorsed 140 of 200 senators. Prinya said commissioners would today discuss the situation of the 60 senators-elect waiting to be endorsed.

Well-known senators-elect who participated in a rally of the People's Alliance for Democracy, including Rosana Tositrakul, Nitipoom Nawarat, Boonyord Sooktinthai and Klanarong Chantik, are still waiting to be endorsed. - The Nation
