Commission official to sue top court

An Election Commission official said yesterday he will file a lawsuit with the Administrative Court demanding that the Supreme Court stop delaying the selection process to fill the commission's two vacant seats.

Pirapong Pairin said he plans to lodge his petition with the Central Administrative Court today.

The full bench of 86 Supreme Court judges decided last month to postpone the EC selection process until the three remaining members stepped aside, paving the way for

a revamp of the commission to

restore the credibility of the electoral process.

Pirapong said the delay posed an obstacle to his plan to apply for the job.
