The 25-bus service has been losing about Bt2 million a month, although daily revenue has risen from Bt22,000 to Bt25,000, said Pornchai Jitnawasatian, Chiang Mai's deputy mayor. A proposed two-hour reduction to the timetable is expected to save 7 to 8 per cent on operating costs. The new timetable will run from 6am to 8pm instead of 10pm.
