TRT 'claims' Democrats
The Democrat Party yesterday sought an explanation as to why the Thai Rak Thai Party has allegedly listed some Democrats as members of the Thai Rak Thai Party.
Democrat Party deputy spokesman Apichart Sakdiset said 36 Democrat office directors were listed as Thai Rak Thai members on the Election Commission (EC)'s website, www.etc.go.th. "They are our members," Apichart said. According to him, many villagers had lodged complaints with the Democrat Party, saying Thai Rak Thai membership cards had been sent to them despite the fact that they had never applied to join the ruling party. Apichart said about 20 of 100 names on one membership list were duplicated on a Thai Rak Thai membership list. He called on the EC to investigate the matter and punish any wrongdoers.
